PhD studentship in Responsible AI Literacy in Journalism

A fully-funded PhD studentship position has just opened.
The studentship is in Responsible AI Literacy in Journalism and the student will work closely with the BBC as part of their research. This is fully funded with a £1,600 per month tax-free stipend as well as a research and training grant. By default, it covers UK fees, but we can waive the international fees for exceptional candidates if we get a particularly strong one from Europe or the rest of the world.

I am looking for strong candidate, with excellent research methods skills, familiarity with the news industry and good communication skills. Please share with your students and encourage good potential candidates to apply. If you have a recommendation for a specific person, please feel free to put them in touch directly with me and I’ll be happy to chat with them.
On a separate note, I have just started working with the BBC as a fellow, and will be working in the same topic of Responsible AI Literacy in Journalism. I will be studying the BBC for this. If you have any thoughts on collaboration in terms of comparative studies between the UK and Portuguese/Greek national broadcasters, do give me a shout. It would be great to work with you again.
