Erasmus+ Students

General Information for incoming students at the School of Journalism & Mass Communications

The academic year is divided into two semesters, fall and spring, each lasting approximately fifteen weeks. The fall semester at the School of Journalism & Mass Communications starts on October 1st and ends in mid-January. The spring semester starts in early February and ends in late May. Each semester is followed by an examination period of approximately twenty days.

The School of Journalism & Mass Communications offers a programme in English for undergraduate students, both in the fall and spring semester with 30 ECTS credits for each semester (click here for the undergraduate courses in English). Postgraduate students also have the opportunity to attend courses offered in our English MA in Digital Media, Communication and Journalism (click here for the postgraduate courses in English).

The English programme is uploaded on the website of the School in mid/late September. Students who wish to make changes in their learning agreements should contact the School’s ECTS coordinators (Dr. Ioanna Kostarella or Dr. Marina Tzoannopoulou).  Students are strongly advised to make changes in their learning agreements only after their arrival in Thessaloniki as the availability of courses may change from year to year (new courses offered).  Students will have the opportunity to make changes in their learning agreements until early November.

For questions regarding applications (student nominations, acceptance letters), accommodation etc. please contact the School of European and Educational Programmes at:  https://eurep.auth.gr/en?lang=en

ECTS co-ordinators should be contacted for academic matters only.

Every year a welcome reception is held for Erasmus/international students at the School’s premises in the first week of each semester. Please check the website regularly in mid/late September for the course programme/timetable and the welcome reception.

We very much look forward to welcoming you this year!
