Member of European Journalism Training Association

At the Annual General Meeting of the European Journalism Training Association (EJTA), that was held on 28th and 29th of May 2015 in Brussels, the School of Journalism and Mass Communications of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) was unanimously accepted as a member. After having formally submitted its application in April 2015, our School was visited and thoroughly evaluated by Prof. Niko Drok, President of EJTA, and Nadia Vissers, Secretary of EJTA.

Our School joins an association of 60 Schools/Departments of Journalism from 24 countries across Europe, which, established in 1990, has been instrumental in the development of contemporary teaching of and research in journalism. Its consistent reflexion on the standards, values and skills required of contemporary journalists is summarized in the Tartu Declaration (2003, revised in 2013), a document of critical importance for the public value and professional norms of european journalism, to which all EJTA members are committed in upholding in their educational programs.
