General Objectives
-
The Section for Political
Communication of ECREA aims to be an open, flexible and
academically engaging forum for the exposure and the
critical debate of currently produced research across
Europe. It also aims to contribute towards academic
bonding and the building up of a firm trans-European
research community and the upholding of high research
standards.
Membership
-
The Political Communication section
consists of ECREA members who participate in its works
and conference sessions with some regularity, by:
-
Responding to calls for
papers, participating in the research and
academic debate during section sessions at
conferences. Attendance of the business meetings
of the section – held at each conference – which
are usual manifestations of preference for the
section and of active participation and support,
that we welcome.
-
Contributing original or
novel proposals of networking and cooperation -
such are particularly welcome and encouraged.
-
The business meetings of the section
are open to all interested ECREA members who have also a
right to vote. Non-ECREA members may attend the
Political Communication Section business meetings, but
without any right to vote.
Leadership
-
The Section chair and vice-chairs are
responsible for the operation of all the activities of
the section and for the fulfillment of its obligations,
particularly, in regard of organising section sessions
at conferences. They serve for a period of two years.
a. The chair and vice-chairs are
accountable to
-
its own membership, notably,
during the regular business meetings,
-
the board of ECREA, and
-
to
the general assembly.
b. The business meeting of the
section, as the primary decision-making body,
-
discusses current trends in the
field and proposes topics of interest for oncoming
conferences,
-
it assesses completed conference
sessions.
-
it can propose other initiatives
conducive towards the general objectives of the
section or other network projects, for instance
publications, and
-
decides about the new leadership
of the section every two years following submission
of nominations for candidates electronically.
